Forum meetings 2011
In January members had an interesting presentation on oral health and all were given free samples of toothpaste. Annie Lavin also came to talk about the 2011 Census.
There was a lively debate at the February meeting when Cllr Khan and Stephen Tingle spoke about proposed changes to Adult services due to budget restraints imposed by central government. Bernard Styan also talked about the 50+ Impact project.
In March the NW ambulance service told us of the consultation to move to a foundation trust. One of our members, Vidusi, gave a fascinating account of being a Buddhist in Blackburn.
In April, Tracey Walker’s team came to explain about stroke services and the rehabilitation services available. Caroline Holtom explained how the Healthy Communities are complimenting this work. She will come again later in the year to tell us more about her work.
Members took part in a workshop style meeting in May at King George’s Hall. The event outcomes are reported in the focus group section of the website.
