The Edgworth Group

The Forum believes it is important to reach out to older residents who live on the edge of the Borough. They need to know about services available to them and the service providers need to be reminded that they have a duty to our neighbours in the rural areas.

The Edgworth Group holds monthly meetings in the Barlow Institute (map). The meetings will be on the second Thursday of the month. Those attending can book a sandwich lunch at the luncheon club that follows the meeting at a cost of £2.

Dates of Meetings 2011

  • In January there was a social meeting where members played games and had a quiz.
  • In February Mr Brian Merrick spoke on the merits of honey and bee keeping.
  • In March Alison Johnson told members of the 2011 census.
  • Yunus Mogra came to explain about the North West Ambulance service in April.
  • At the May meeting, Barry Scanlon talked about his exploits as a member of the Edgworth Horticultural Society.+
