Welcome to Blackburn with Darwen Older People's Forum
The Forum, which is funded by the Working Neighbourhood Fund and tPCT, was established to help people in Blackburn with Darwen who are aged 50 or over enjoy an active and fulfilling life, by providing access to social opportunities, activities and education.
The Forum is open to all ethnic and cultural backgrounds. It is a democratically constituted group and aims to fully involve members in the decision-making process.
What we do
- Ensure the voice of Older People is heard by representatives on policy making committees in the Borough
- Provide an important access point for consultation on Older People's Issues
- Respond to local and national debates
- Provide good quality information on a range of subjects
- Facilitate groups to discuss matters of interest to older people
- Promote access to social and leisure activities

Who is the Forum for?
The Forum is open to everyone of all ethnic and cultural backgrounds who are over 50 years of age and live and work in Blackburn with Darwen. The Forum fully supports anyone with a disability or sensory impairment and seeks to fully assist them in attending meetings and social events by ensuring venues are accessible to all and that equipment is in place to support anyone with sight or hearing difficulties.
